QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba or eligibility for such licensure
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
  • Introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring (online course)
  • Fetal Health Surveillance
  • One (1) year full-time equivalent experience in Maternal-Child nursing or successful completion of an accredited Midwifery Program
  • Knowledge and competence in clinical nursing skills and concepts per approved standards
  • Effective decision-making regarding nursing care
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic software
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational skills, and ability to work independently
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Satisfactory employment record

POSITION SUMMARY

The Nurse II provides comprehensive nursing care aligned with Prairie Mountain Health's vision, mission, and values, adhering to established standards, policies, and procedures. They recognize and fulfill their professional responsibilities by practicing according to the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics, the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice, and relevant legislation, including the RHPA and the Nurses Act.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Practice within their scope, expertise, training, and experience, complying with the RHPA, CRNM standards, and professional codes of ethics.
  2. Obtain and maintain relevant competencies required by PMH.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned.
