Overview

About the Role

CLIENT is seeking two experienced Senior Application Developers to join a collaborative team focused on replacing a legacy MS Access solution with a modern .NET-based web application. One developer will need strong MS Access experience to support and reverse-engineer the current system, while both will contribute to the development of new features and data migration. You’ll work closely with CLIENT project managers, SMEs, and operations teams in an agile environment using DevOps tools. This is a high-impact role supporting a Government of Canada project, requiring reliability clearance and ideally Secret II.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing support for legacy MS Access applications
  • Develop new features for sales order ingestion, reporting, and quoting tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design / code issues
  • Build web-based GUI features and interfaces to other systems
  • Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions
  • Collaborate within a small, agile team of 5
Must-Have Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years as a Developer Analyst
  • Strong experience with MS Access and .NET web application development
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, and leveraging APIs
  • Ability to assess user stories and iterate toward desired outcomes
  • Team player with strong independent work ethic
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Government of Canada Reliability clearance (Secret II preferred)
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • MS or BS in Computer / Software Engineering
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Agile methodologies
  • Exposure to AI for data analysis, translation, or automation
  • Familiarity with telecommunications technologies (WAN, LAN, VoIP)
  • Understanding of ITSM processes (Service Orders, CMDB, Change Requests)
  • Work Arrangement : Remote or flexible (CLIENT Workstyles); nearest corporate office may be used for occasional meetings (e.g., Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver).
Project Background

This is a replacement role within an existing team, aimed at accelerating a retooling process to meet contractual deadlines. The successful candidate will play a key role in modernizing legacy systems and supporting CLIENT’s service delivery operations.
