Overview

Job Title: National Specialty Leasing Manager

Job Description Summary

Reporting To: Liaising with a Board of peers (Marketing Operations Leasing) continues to report to CWS Services.

General accountability includes acting as the liaison for the department with Marketing Operations Leasing and ownership groups, chairing bi-weekly meetings, providing leadership on national and local levels with SL team members, specialty leasing tenants and corporate sponsorship partners, and managing team targets to achieve revenue goals.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include marketing, leasing, and managing the specialty leasing program for the shopping centre; driving sales and traffic to retailers; achieving and increasing miscellaneous revenue budgets; minimizing vacancy; and ensuring quality service and visual standards are met for assigned properties at a national level.

Specialty Leasing areas of responsibility

  • Temporary inline leasing
  • Temporary kiosks
  • Pop up retail and activations
  • MRU program
  • National and Centre-focused partnership opportunities
  • Identify other innovative and revenue-generating uses
  • Attend conferences (industry related and internal) as required
  • Prospect and build relationships with local entrepreneurs, leasing representatives, brokers, and local and national potential tenants
  • Maintain a database of clients, vendors and new contacts to generate business relationships
  • Represent the property and Cushman & Wakefield within the community to build external relationships and meet the needs of the local community and centre retailers
  • Other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • A postsecondary education with a minimum 5-7 years of leasing experience in retail sales or shopping centre related experience is preferred
  • Licensed to trade in real estate in Ontario at minimum; licensing in other provinces is an asset
  • Ability to analyze demographic and related research information
  • Ideally a self-directed, self-confident, achievement-oriented individual
  • Preference given to those with proven sales and leasing or specialty leasing experience
  • Proven ability to develop and execute innovative and creative uses of common area to generate interest and revenue
  • Persistent and entrepreneurial approach with proven ability to close deals
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and negotiation skills
  • Represent the property within the community to build external relationships
  • Interface with all members of the property management team and build relationships with head office leasing; participate and contribute to collective goals, objectives and events

  • Basic accounting and record keeping skills
  • Experience in deal making
  • Self-motivated, innovative and able to operate in a challenging environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Experience in organizing and executing special events/promotions
  • Must be able to provide a clear Police record check
  • Previous Specialty Leasing experience preferred
  • Previous Marketing experience preferred
  • Specialty Leasing designation an asset
  • Must have valid driver’s license and own transportation

Compensation

Salary: $102,807.50 – $120,950
