Qualifications

Overview

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting a Mill Maintenance Mechanic for our gypsum plant in Hagersville, ON! This is a permanent position on the day shift, working a 4x 10-hour schedule and every 5th weekend with on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures in an industrial environment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematic and drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Recommend and implement corrective action and required repairs.
  • Conduct planned preventive & predictive maintenance and keep maintenance records.
  • Proficient mechanical understanding.
  • General welding and fabrication knowledge.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of a preventative maintenance program.
Qualifications
  • Millwright certification is preferred, however extensive experience and technical expertise with a proven track record of safe operations and willingness to complete a Millwright apprenticeship in the plant may be considered.
  • Strong organization and troubleshooting abilities
  • Effective and respectful communication skills
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors year-round; weekend work and on-call rotation required from time to time
  • A track record of great work performance, attendance, and safety behaviors.

Hourly wage: $36.72

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
