Job summary

A healthcare organization in Manitoba seeks a mental health professional to work with children and families. This role requires a Master’s degree and experience in mental health and addictions. Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview
Experience
  • 4-5 years’ experience working with children, adolescents and families in mental health and addictions required.
  • Experience working with a variety of First Nations communities; their culture and healing practices.
  • Experience completing suicide risk assessments, clinical care planning and system navigation.
  • Experience developing and delivering mental health education is considered an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Master’s degree in a relevant health discipline from an accredited education institution required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Training and demonstrated skill in several of the following areas: clinical assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, play therapy and systems intervention.
  • Core knowledge of child and adolescent development and mental health issues in childhood and adolescence.
  • An appreciation and understanding of the impact that colonization has had on First Nations communities in Manitoba.
  • Skilled in building collaborative working partnerships with a variety of service providers and Jordan's Principle service coordinators/case managers, clients and families.
  • Knowledge and experience working within First Nations communities an asset.
