Position Description

Working alongside a team of administrative staff and healthcare professionals, you will engage with a large portfolio of patients. This role involves close collaboration with the doctor to provide the best possible care through coordination and communication.

As the Medical Administrator, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering patient calls and scheduling or rescheduling appointments
  • Greeting patients upon arrival and administering necessary paperwork
  • Updating patient files with medical history, insurance information, etc.
  • Processing payments when required
  • Tracking, ordering, and storing office supplies appropriately
  • Receiving shipments of medication and office supplies
  • Answering patient inquiries and concerns
  • Calling patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and scheduling off-site services
  • Collaborating with referring doctors' offices to obtain patient charts and history

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience working in a busy medical office
  • 3+ years of experience as a medical administrator, medical receptionist, or office manager within a busy clinic setting

Education

  • Post-secondary education required
  • Advanced diploma in Medical Administration or Medical Secretary is a strong asset
