In this role, you will:
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Manage the performance of instruments using GeoExplorer Software
  • Analyze and process data to support operational planning and reporting requirements.
  • Support routine field tasks such as dam safety inspections and field data collection
  • Complete basic troubleshooting and repair of geotechnical equipment
  • Assist with various audits and internal self‑assessments to demonstrate compliance to various tailings and mining regulatory requirements
  • Update inspection databases and organize technical documentation
  • Prepare monthly engineering packages and support in monthly tailings meetings with senior site leadership
  • Conduct field experiments and surveys related to tailings facility performance and improvement
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure project execution and data collection
  • Ad‑hoc tasks as needed and directed by site‑based Tailings Engineers
Requirements:
  • Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Geology, Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering with an interest in Geotechnical Engineering concepts
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License or extra‑provincial equivalent, without learner's restrictions
  • Able to operate vehicles at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrain
  • Motivated self‑starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to work outdoors
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels and partners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Fundamental understanding of Geotechnical Engineering concepts is required
