Materials Engineer – Aero-Derivative Gas Turbines

Location: Lachine, QC, CA | Type: Contract

Overview

Join a dynamic Integrated Product Team as the Materials Expert, where your insights will shape the future of aero-derivative gas turbine technology. You’ll be a key contributor across all phases of the design and production cycle, ensuring optimal material selection, process validation, and product integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by leading research initiatives and applying expertise in design, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Develop and refine manufacturing methods through product requirement analysis, equipment testing, and supplier collaboration.
  • Ensure product and process quality by establishing testing protocols, validating finished goods, and confirming process capabilities.
  • Participate in design reviews, offering expert recommendations on materials and special processes.
  • Support sourcing initiatives for new commodities and process improvements.
Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Materials Engineering
  • Strong background in metallurgy, failure analysis, and component validation
  • Proven experience in design reviews and process development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills in English

Nice-to-Have:

  • Proficiency in French
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
