Marmot Basin Jasper AB Rentals & Retail Supervisor
Location: Jasper, AB | Seasonal job details: Seasonal | Reports To: Rental & Retail Manager, Director of Skiing
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Rental & Retail Staff across all locations; assist with onboarding, training, and performance reviews.
- Coordinate scheduling and shift planning to ensure adequate staffing; foster a positive team culture focused on accountability and guest experience.
- Address staff performance issues and customer escalations professionally; oversee daily payroll review and approval in collaboration with the Manager.
- Oversee Rental Shop, Town Store, on-mountain retail spaces, and Online Retail operations; optimize store layout and product presentation.
- Oversee inventory control including ordering, receiving, pricing, merchandising, loss prevention; monitor equipment use and coordinate maintenance/repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols (WHMIS, WCB) and operational procedures.
- Support guest experience and sales performance by maintaining high service standards and assisting with guest concerns and transactions or bookings.
- Utilize RTP, Inntopia, and Aspenwear for reporting, troubleshooting, and operational updates; liaise with IT and accounting on POS issues, audits, or discrepancies.
- Maintain and update SOPs, training manuals, and policy references; participate in cross-functional coordination with Ski School, Guest Services, Maintenance, and Mountain Ops.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in retail, rentals, or hospitality (required).
- Post-secondary education in business, tourism, or related field (asset).
- Proficient in POS systems such as RTP, Inntopia, Aspenwear, or similar platforms; experience with inventory management, staff scheduling, and sales analysis.
- Ski/snowboard equipment knowledge and rental operations experience (required).
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and team communication platforms.
- Key attributes: proven leadership and team-building skills; organized, detail-oriented, deadline-driven; strong interpersonal and communication abilities; adaptable to changing priorities in a high-paced, guest-facing environment; alpine skier and/or snowboarder (required).
