Our client located near Newmarket, Ontario has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer, who has Stamping and/or Weld Assembly experience.
Pay Range: $90-100k
Shift: Steady shifts Nights and either Day or Afternoon
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develop and maintain documentation for PFMEA, New program monitoring, PFC requirements as defined by DFMA Engineering Management, and operator instructions and equipment capacity training.
- Create and maintain floor plan layouts, rework instructions, packaging studies, change-over procedures, time studies, ergonomic studies, and manufacturing engineering open activities.
- Address operator issues and lessons learned; source and develop outside vendors and resources capable of performing work to specifications.
- Take a leadership role in the development and implementation of 8D corrective actions (CARs).
- Coordinate the execution of internal PPAP projects.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with health and safety legislation, practices and procedures.
- Plan, coordinate and develop prototype builds and budgets to meet APQP timelines.
- Plan and lead the launch of new programs, new equipment and retrofits; work with machine integrators and manage timelines and progress reports.
- Ensure equipment provided by OEM adheres to equipment specifications; plan and lead for new gauges and check fixtures for new and existing programs.
- Perform all duties in accordance with TS 16949 Quality System Standard and follow Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions in the Quality Systems Manual and Employee Handbook.
- Perform all job functions safely, abiding by health, safety, 5S, and housekeeping guidelines; report unsafe or unhealthy conditions.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Responsibilities
- Responsibilities cover all areas of the press, assembly, receiving, and work-in-process.
- Plan, coordinate, lead, and participate in multi-disciplinary teams to address manufacturing process, productivity, scrap/rework, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
- Stay current with manufacturing engineering trends, attending training as needed.
- In liaison with the Program Manager, Sales Coordinator, Product Engineer, and Purchasing, complete RFQs on a timely basis while meeting customer requirements.
- Define specifications and the statement of work; develop and maintain implementation plans for new equipment.
- Obtain quotes for new or modified equipment for approval.
- Champion continuous improvement within the area of responsibility.
Requirements
- Degree/ Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Computer skills in SolidWorks, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Minimum 5 years industrial experience, preferably in: automated assembly process, MIG welding process; knowledge in laser welding is an asset; Tool and Die making and/or metal fabrication.
