Position Information

The Ottawa Hospital is looking for a dynamic and talented health leader to join its Medical Imaging leadership team as Manager, Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology. This is an exciting opportunity as we continue our journey of medical imaging services transformation through the optimization of new technologies, a multi-year capital equipment plan, and the future development of our new world-class Civic hospital.

The Department of Medical Imaging (DMI) provides a full range of diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional services to the Hospital and its community. This multi-site, fast-paced department encompasses a significant clinical service footprint, representing approximately 600,000 patient encounters per year throughout our various imaging modalities. Medical Imaging is home to hundreds of highly skilled and dedicated leaders, technologists, sonographers, nurses, physicians, clerks and personal support workers delivering on our vision of providing world-class medical imaging services that we would want for our own loved ones.

Reporting to the Director of Medical Imaging, the Manager, Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology, is responsible for the effective management of cross-campus business objectives, oversees day-to-day departmental operations, including budgeting, and business objectives, and will work with their team and other departments to maintain and improve staff and patient experience. The manager will apply learning and accountability consistent with a just culture as they develop workflow operations, inventory management strategies, new standards of practice/service, and ensure the quality of services.

This position will also be integral to upholding the vision of TOH, to provide each patient with the world-class care, exceptional service and compassion that we would want for our loved ones.

Rotation/Shifts

Days 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or health-related field, or a three-year College Diploma in Medical Radiation Technology;
  • Five (5) years of management experience in healthcare;
  • Significant experience in the areas of operations, project and financial management;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills, task prioritization skills and time management skills;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to effectively communicate information to all levels of staff;
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Excel, E-mail);
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, facilitation, conflict resolution, and coaching skills;
  • Excellent information gathering‑solving skills;
  • Change management skills;
  • Attention to detail required to plan and develop new/enhanced services;
  • Excellent decision‑making and judgment;
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business or healthcare administration;
  • Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
