Are you searching for new possibilities? Westland Insurance Group has an exciting, fixed‑term contract opportunity for a Manager, People & Performance. This is a hybrid role based in our Surrey, BC head office.

We’re looking for a people‑focused, strategic HR leader to join our team as Manager, People & Performance on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. In this role, you’ll act as the primary HR business partner to your assigned client groups – coaching leaders, shaping people strategies, and championing a modern, inclusive, and engaging employee experience as Westland continues to evolve.

Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $89,600 to $112,000 based on a 35‑hour work week. Your rate of pay will be determined based on your individual qualifications and experience, while considering internal equity.

You’ll play a key role in translating business objectives into impactful people solutions, partnering closely with leaders and HR Centers of Excellence to drive performance, growth, and organizational effectiveness. You’ll also lead and develop your direct report(s), supporting their growth while strengthening the overall capability of the People & Performance function.

  • Serve as the primary HR Business Partner for assigned client groups, translating business goals into effective people strategies
  • Coach and advise leaders on performance, engagement, organizational design, workforce planning, and change management
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (L&D, Compensation & Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, DEI) to deliver integrated people programs
  • Collaborate with People Relations on complex employee matters, investigations, and performance challenges
  • Support onboarding and first‑year integration of newly acquired businesses
  • Use HR analytics and scorecards to identify trends and drive data‑informed decisionsLead, coach, and develop direct report(s), continuously elevating HR from reactive to proactive
