Overview

WSP is seeking a dynamic Municipal Engineering Manager to lead our Fredericton Office. This role offers the opportunity to manage and support our talented technical staff on a diverse range of Municipal and Land Development projects across New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada. As a Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in growing our team, leveraging your leadership skills and technical expertise to drive our success. Your responsibilities will include collaboration, provide technical guidance, and ensure financial responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in engineering, project leadership, and client engagement, along with a strong technical background. What you can expect to do here


  • Use leadership skills to lead a team of 13 design staff members.

  • Apply technical skills to guide and manage design projects.

  • Manage resources and report on key performance indicators.

  • Leverage prior experience for strategic initiatives and business development.

  • Manage relationships with internal and external clients, ensuring their needs are understood and met, while providing guidance and expertise.

  • Ensure that the appropriate background research and analysis is completed in consultation with the relevant government agencies.



What you’ll bring to WSP


  • A degree in Civil Engineering with over 15 years of consulting and/or municipal experience.

  • More than 10 years of experience in managing and mentoring technical staff.

  • A passion for networking and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Access to a vehicle, a clean Driver’s Abstract, and proficiency with the MS Office suite of products.

  • A strong desire to be engaged in the local engineering market and local construction projects.

  • A knack for helping clients solve problems and assisting junior staff in gaining confidence in their problem-solving skills.

  • An eagerness to become part of our growing network of municipal designers.
