Are you a strategic and creative communications professional ready to help shape the voice and presence of one of Canada’s most inspiring sport and recreation facilities? Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc. (TPASC) is seeking a full time Manager, Marketing and Communications to lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of TPASC’s internal and external communications.

About the Role
The Manager, Marketing and Communications, is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of TPASC’s communications, marketing and brand activities. This role translates organizational priorities into effective, well-coordinated communications and marketing initiatives that enhance customer experience, brand awareness, engagement, and revenue generation.
The role oversees marketing and communications operations, supervises staff and ensures consistent, quality execution across all channels. The Manager also plays a key role in supporting customer experience excellence by aligning marketing, communications, and promotions with the needs of diverse user groups.

The Manager, Marketing and Communications, is accountable for managing and delivering:

  • Internal and external communications and media relations
  • Organizational messaging, content development, and information distribution
  • Adherence to brand standards across all communications materials
  • Digital communications platforms including website, social media, CRM, and email
  • Content strategy, creation, and distribution
  • Marketing plans and campaigns that support communications objectives
  • Support for sponsorships, partnerships, and business development initiatives
  • In-house creative services and communications collateral
  • Performance tracking, analytics, and reporting

Key Responsibilities:
Communications and Marketing Planning

  • Website, social media, and TPASC app management and optimization.
  • Media relations and internal and external corporate communications.
  • Develop and implement annual communications plans, supported by targeted marketing initiatives aligned with

TPASC’s business objectives and brand priorities.

  • Translate organizational goals into clear messaging frameworks, content priorities, and communication plans.
  • Ensure communications and marketing activities are coordinated across departments to support consistency, clarity, and impact.
  • Ensure marketing and communications activities are coordinated across departments for maximum impact.

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Manage day-to-day departmental operations, including work planning, prioritization, and workflow coordination.
  • Supervise, coach, and support marketing and communications employees and interns, ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative, results-oriented team culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, freelancers, and vendors.

Communications, Media & Brand

  • Lead the development and execution of internal and external communications, ensuring timely, clear, and consistent messaging.
  • Support risk management and sensitive communications in coordination with the Managing Director.
  • Responsible for the design, production, and distribution of all TPASC publications, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with approved messaging.
  • Implement and uphold TPASC’s brand standards across all internal and external materials.
  • Act as the primary media contact, including drafting media releases, responding to inquiries, and coordinating interviews.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with media, partners, and key stakeholders.

Marketing & Campaign Execution (Digital and Print)

  • Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, and on-site channels.
  • Oversee content calendars, website updates, social media activity, and email marketing.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support sponsorship activation, events, and revenue-generating initiatives through effective communications support.
  • Ensure effective use of digital tools such as CRM, analytics platforms, CMS, and social scheduling tools.

Customer Experience Support

  • Work collaboratively with operations, programming, and customer service teams to support consistent and positive customer experience.
  • Ensure marketing and communications initiatives reflect the needs and expectations of diverse user groups.
  • Support customer research, feedback collection, and data analysis to inform improvements.

Budgeting, Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop and manage the marketing and communications operating budget.
  • Track expenditures and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Monitor campaign performance using KPIs and analytics and prepare regular performance reports for the Managing Director.
  • Use insights and data to inform ongoing improvements to strategies and tactics and other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, preferably in sport, recreation, entertainment, or a public-facing organization.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing integrated marketing and communications campaigns.
  • Experience supervising staff and working with external agencies and vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, analytics, CRM systems, and content management platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and marketing technology platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, CMS, CRM, social media tools).
  • Familiarity with design and creative tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) is considered an asset.
  • The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
