What You Will Do
- In partnership with global functional leadership teams, create, implement, and guide the human resources priorities & KPI in support of the functional strategic roadmap.
- Serve as an unbiased consultant to the business to mitigate risk by ensuring fair treatment and a balanced approach for those impacted by new policy, procedures and/or organizational change, problem resolution, and human capital decisions.
- Consult with leaders to anticipate future human capital requirements based on business, industry, and market conditions.
- Provide HR expertise to client groups as it pertains to total compensation (salary, incentives, benefits, pension), Recruitment, Organizational Effectiveness, Learning & Development, and Diversity Inclusion.
- Anticipate the impact that new or cyclical HR initiatives will have on client groups and work with leaders to implement and execute them accordingly.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge around HR initiatives and policies and leverage the Center of Excellences (COE), external data, and leading practice.
- Utilize change management philosophy, advise, and guide client group leaders when designing future state changes (people, process, and structure), prepare change and communication plans, and engage with leaders to implement.
- Apply critical thinking and thought leadership to diagnose moderately complex performance issues and work with business leaders to prepare solutions and support implementation.
- Support the implementation of HR initiatives and projects within the business function.
- Demonstrate effective people leadership by offering indirect oversight and mentorship to a small team of HR Business Advisors.
- Work with client groups to champion the enterprise culture of continuous improvement by ensuring the appropriate talent and succession structure, engagement model, performance management, and recognition systems are in place.
What You Will Bring
- Undergraduate Degree specializing in Human Resource (HR) Management.
- Minimum of 8 years of HR business partnering experience with a proven career growth path in a global organization.
- Proven leadership capability gained through 2+ years of direct people leadership.
- Awareness of the Agriculture and Chemical industry practices and cycles would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Human Resource governance practices across Nutrien’s geographical locations, particularly in North America.
- Experience with large ERP systems (SuccessFactors preferred, but not imperative) and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours to support business clients.
- Experience in a fast-paced growth environment, providing strategic direction from a human resource standpoint.
- Experience with problem solving in complex projects that have a company-wide impact.
- Experience with North American human resource practices, preferably in a multi-location environment.
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical HR initiatives.
- Exceptional written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate and present a human resource perspective to senior leadership.
- Strong verbal and presentation skills with the ability to interact with and influence individuals in different disciplines and at different levels.
- Superior leadership skills: ability to influence and engage indirect reports and peers.
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Proven ability to work in a matrix environment to reduce silos and increase cooperation across functions.
- Strong mentoring and coaching experience with diverse levels of expertise.
- Experience with various change management methodologies to support transformational change initiatives.
- Ability to develop, implement and manage change effectively.
- Highly motivated and able to lead and inspire a team.
- Ability to develop relationships and work collaboratively across multiple functions.
