Job Description
What is the opportunity?

The Manager, Finance provides advisory, analysis and reporting to business and finance partners on product expenses and provides advisory, analysis and reporting to the business and finance on bank charge-outs. This role is responsible for controlling the monthly Insurance expense allocation process and underlying models, and is the primary contact and support for the annual cost study process.

What you will do?
  • Provides proactive advice, analysis and reporting to business and finance partners, leveraging problem-solving techniques to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Primary liaison for business and finance partners for understanding and explaining allocation processes, product-level expenses and bank charges
  • Supports core finance activities, including but not limited to planning, forecasting, stress testing, month-end close and management reporting.
  • Assists with the identification of areas where processes can be improved, and supports efforts to scope, define requirements and implement change as necessary to optimize work-flows
  • Advise on the impact of initiatives, management decisions, volumes and other business drivers on product expenses and bank charges
  • Maintain the safety and soundness of financial processes, ensuring proper controls are in place and maintained.
  • Provide advice and analysis to support initiatives as required
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
  • 5+ years of experience related to Insurance analytics, in areas of financial analysis, planning, and in particular allocations, with a solid understanding of P&L impacts
  • CPA, MBA or other
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain complex financial models, particularly in the context of IFRS 17
  • A solid understanding of Insurance system Accounting & Data requirements and processes
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply these to financial modelling, forecasting, and process optimization
  • Self-initiated & self-starter with a strong work ethic, teamwork, collaboration, and co-operation is a requirement
