Overview

The Kativik Regional Government (KRG), a supra-municipal body with jurisdiction over the territory north of the 55th parallel, is seeking a self-motivated and dynamic individual to join the Transportation Department as Airport Manager, Puvirnituk Airport (Full-time permanent).

Responsibilities
  • Report to the Director of the Transportation Department and ensure safe, effective, and efficient management of airport operations.
  • Manage resources for day-to-day operation, safety, and serviceability of all airport facilities for air carriers, general aviation, tenants, and the public.
  • Implement and administer airport programs to operate in a safe and secure manner and serve as a vital link to remote airports in the region.
  • Conduct ongoing communications, stakeholder engagement, and promotional activities for the airport.
  • Provide leadership and support to assigned staff (Airport Maintainers, Electrician, Mechanics) to meet operational and administrative needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for airport operations.
  • Manage the airport emergency response plan and liaise with responding agencies and tenants.
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator Regulatory Process to maintain the Safety Management System, set goals, investigate Occurrence Reports, implement Corrective Action Plans, and provide status reports.
  • Conduct regular inspections of airports in accordance with regulations, standards, policies, and guidelines.
  • Review invoices and follow up on supplier payments; process purchasing requisitions and provide follow-up as required.
  • Coordinate with the Training Coordinator to identify training needs and assist in developing training plans and materials.
  • Use the Travel Management System for staff travel needs and review timesheets before submission to payroll.
  • Provide support to Coordinators of Operations and Administration in the Transport Department.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Director as required.
Requirements
  • University degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in an airport-related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Experience with project management and report preparation, preferably in the transportation industry, is an asset.
  • Knowledge of airport Safety Management System.
  • Strong planning, organizing, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and writing skills in at least two of: Inuktitut, English, or French.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multicultural environment; experience in Aboriginal communities is an asset.
  • This position involves being on call regularly (duty manager).
Location and Compensation

Place of work: Puvirnituk, Quebec

Salary: Min $92,718 yearly – Max $127,481 yearly
