Job Description

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Prepare quarterly consolidation packages and general ledger sub-ledgers
• Assist the General Manager in preparing corporate business plans and financial forecasts
• Review subsidiary financial statements and provide accounting support as needed
• Prepare and document SOX internal control matrix and fraud risk assessments; perform walkthroughs and key control testing
• Review financial transactions, such as trial balances and expense items, to identify issues and independently determine appropriate resolutions
• Execute special projects and resolve non-recurring, complex accounting issues (e.g., revenue recognition, lease accounting)
• Post journal entries in SAP and financial consolidation systems
• Communicate effectively with team members, other departments, and external parties such as auditors to resolve accounting issues
• Make tax payments to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) based on instructions from the corporate tax manager
