The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance activities, optimizing the use of resources, and ensuring the maintenance management system is kept up to date. They analyze breakdowns, implement performance indicators, and collaborate with various departments to ensure optimal equipment availability. During major shutdowns, they coordinate the preparation, planning, and execution of work, organize health and safety training, supervise preliminary inspections, develop schedules, and ensure the security of parts.

What you bring to the table

Your daily tasks will include:

Planning preventive and corrective maintenance activities

Ensuring work orders are scheduled by evaluating, planning, and optimizing the necessary resources (parts, equipment, and labor)

Establishing and producing the schedule for planned maintenance work for ongoing and scheduled shutdowns

Keeping the maintenance management system up to date

Analyzing breakdowns and failures to establish appropriate action plans

Implementing and monitoring maintenance performance indicators

Collaborating with different departments to ensure optimal equipment availability and efficient production

Developing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program

Planning the internal and external resources required for targeted work

Reviewing and validating, from the list of pending work, the work orders that need to be planned and scheduled for the next shutdown

Ensuring support from production, maintenance, purchasing, inventory, and planning managers by communicating the shutdown strategy and tracking the progress of activities during the shutdown

Acting as a leader in coordinating and preparing all activities related to the planning and execution of a major planned shutdown

Ensuring that scheduling calendars are prepared for all shutdown work, including equipment cleaning, contractor preparation, and demobilization tasks

Organizing and coordinating company health and safety training for subcontractors and contractors

Organizing and scheduling safety analyses of work with plant personnel and contractors

Developing a schedule (Gantt chart) for all shutdown activities and tracking the progress of work

Physically verifying and then securing the materials and parts dedicated to the next shutdown

Facilitating and organizing a post-mortem meeting at the end of the shutdown to identify improvements and recommendations for future shutdowns

WORK LOCATION: Provinces of Quebec and Atlantic Canada

ESSENTIALS SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSUFUL

A Bachelor's or BAC, DEC, DEP or equivalent in a relevant field

3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.

Demonstrated autonomy and excellent organizational skills

Strong communication skills and proven leadership abilities

Proficiency with MS Office (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Knowledge of one or more CMMS systems ( Maximo, SAP, Guide Ti, etc.) is a major asset.
