The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and 2-5 years of related experience, skilled in problem-solving and customer service. NVDPL is looking for a regular part-time Maintenance Person 1, to perform regular building/building systems maintenance and minor repairs, cleaning, janitorial, driving and delivery related functions.

Reporting to the Business Manager and working as a fully contributing member of the Library Staff, the Maintenance Person 1 position is part of the Library Building Maintenance Team supervised by the Building Services and Delivery Supervisor. This particular Maintenance Person 1 position is centered at Lynn Valley Library and serves all NVDPL Library Branches.

The hourly pay rate for this unionized position starts at $27.30 (2024 rates), based on a 22.5-hour workweek, plus a generous benefits package. The regular schedule for this position is to be determined; however, the role requires availability 7 days a week with on-call responsibilities in the event of emergencies.
