Located in downtown Toronto, the largest and most culturally diverse city in Canada and on the territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and the Wendat Peoples, the School of Information Technology Management in the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) invites applications for the Loretta Rogers Research Chair in Cybersecurity Analytics position at the rank of Associate Professor effective July 1, 2026 subject to final budgetary approval.

Established in 2007, and made possible through a significant leadership gift from the Rogers family, the Loretta Rogers Research Chair Program aims to attract outstanding scholars to advance and enrich innovative and societally relevant research and learning experiences at TRSM.

We are seeking an eminent scholar to join our research and innovation environment, bringing experience and a deep understanding of the theories, practices, techniques, tools and issues surrounding cybersecurity and analytics. The successful candidate will integrate research interests in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, as well as other relevant fields.

The successful candidate will engage in a combination of teaching, scholarly research or creative activity and service duties while maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across all activities. Teaching duties will entail teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, supervision of students, and/or curriculum development. The successful candidate will pursue a strong, innovative and internationally recognized research program that is externally funded and that produces cutting‑edge, high quality results published in highly ranked journals.

  • a letter of application; Please indicate in your letter of application whether at the time of this application, you hold tenure at your current institution.
  • a curriculum vitae;
  • a detailed research plan of no more than 5 pages;
  • evidence of research training (e.g., supervision and mentorship of graduate students and other highly qualified personnel) in relevant fields;
  • three recent research publications directed to the aforementioned fields of expertise;
  • an EDI statement with clear descriptions of how the candidate has upheld the values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in their service, teaching, and scholarly, research or creative activities;
  • a teaching dossier and results of teaching evaluations; and
  • names and contact information of three individuals who may be contacted for references.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Information Systems or a closely related field, and hold a tenured position at a recognized institution at the Associate Professor rank by the appointment date.

In addition, the successful candidate must present evidence of:

  • expertise in cybersecurity research, and/or other areas relevant to the position, such as business analytics, and artificial intelligence;
  • internationally recognized research profile with evidence of peer reviewed contributions in high quality outlets in the area of cybersecurity and related fields;
  • demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program (and/or participation in partnership grants and/or ability to attract multi‑institutional grants) of an internationally competitive caliber;
  • research collaborations or strong potential/ability to attract industrial and community collaborative initiatives;
  • demonstrated ability to develop and retain excellent trainees, students and future researchers;
  • experience in course development and teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
  • a commitment to our values of equity, diversity, and inclusion as it pertains to service, teaching, and scholarly research or creative activities, including a demonstrated ability to make learning accessible and inclusive for a diverse student population; and
  • an ability and willingness to contribute to the life of the School of Information Technology Management and the University through collegial service.
