Job summary

A regional trucking company in Surrey is seeking a dedicated truck driver. Responsibilities include driving long-haul routes, loading and unloading goods, and ensuring vehicle safety. The ideal candidate will have a secondary school diploma and a Class 1 or A driver's license. Training is provided for new drivers, with a commitment to safety and teamwork. This is a permanent position with a workload of 50 hours per week.

Tasks

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform brake adjustments
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
