Position Overview
Working as a collaborative team member, the Logistics and Nutrition Assistant performs duties including food and nutrition preparation, delivery, cleaning and sanitation, portering patients/clients/equipment/supplies, and providing transportation services for outpatients/clients.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of Ontario Secondary School Grade 12 equivalency
- Completion of the National Food Safety Training Certificate Program (preferred)
- Six months’ work experience in an institutional food services environment (preferred)
- Experience with HACCP guidelines (preferred)
- Valid Ontario driver’s license Class G and a clear driver’s abstract; Class F preferred
- Experience with computerized systems
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing food services for patient/clients, including meal preparation and service
- Operate equipment such as dish machines, food choppers, toasters, and transport vehicles
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food service areas and equipment
- Perform inventory control and HACCP temperature procedures, completing related documentation
- Drive community clients to appointments, using Providence Care accessible bus or 12-passenger van (Class F license required)
