InterAtlas Chemical is looking for a self-directed and experienced Transportation and Logistics Specialist to communicate with carriers, and ensure shipments arrive in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that the daily pipeline of sales orders are being accurately scheduled with preferred carriers throughout North America.
  • Preparing accurate documentation to support the movement of goods.
  • Negotiating freight rates and determining freight requirements.
  • Managing and resolving any logistical issues or discrepancies that arise during loading, transit and unloading.
  • Plan and track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements, handling customer inquiries and providing updates on shipment status.
  • Maintain logs and records of stock and executed orders.
  • Prepare accurate invoices for customers, and reports for the Accounting Department.
  • Consistent and effective communication with operations and sales department.
  • Understanding transportation and industry market conditions throughout the world and communicating issues that could impact operations.
Qualifications
  • At least three years of practical experience in Logistics and Freight Forwarding is required.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a high level of practical intelligence.
  • Extremely detail oriented and thorough, with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in an effective manner, with the capability to shift focus when situations occur.
  • Computer skills are necessary, including Microsoft Teams, Excel, and various logistics software.
  • Sound knowledge of North American geography.
  • Knowledge in Canadian and American customs procedures.
