A healthcare services provider in Alberta is seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their multidisciplinary team. The role encompasses delivering holistic care to patients and their families, leading teams, and adhering to established healthcare standards. Candidates must have a Practical Nursing diploma, registration with the college, and basic life support certification. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works to full scope of practice with our multidisciplinary health care team. Collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and supporting patients and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own; providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. Unit 5 is a 24 bed Orthopedic and General Surgery Unit which will challenge you and strengthen your nursing skills and efficiency. We welcome anyone who is highly motivated, organized and has a passion for post‑operative care. Please note: Number of hours per shift and shifts per cycle is for information purposes only.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.
Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills required. Excellent assessment and organizational skills required.
Surgical experience an asset. C‑Spine training and advanced wound care experience an asset.
