SALARY: $51,250 – MASTER’S DEGREE

$55,800 – DOCTORATE DEGREE

*New faculty may receive up a 20% increase above the minimum base salary to recognize direct, job-related college teaching or other professional experience and/or extenuating labor market conditions, if requested by the recommending administrator and verified by Human Resources as justified.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Librarian position supports the College’s mission and goals by developing, coordinating, providing, and reporting appropriate library services and resources to ensure students, faculty, and staff are able to effectively fulfill their educational, research and information needs. Additional Activities of the Outreach and First Year Experience Librarian:

• Designs and implements strategies to support FSCJ’s library involvement with first-year experience (FYE) programs and outreach efforts.
• Collaborates with IDS and Dual Enrollment faculty to integrate information literacy skills into first-year courses and assignments.
• Partners with departments such as Student Life and Advising to introduce library services to new students, emphasizing retention and success.
• Manages the Personal Librarian program and develops innovative engagement strategies for first-year and underserved students.
• Develops programming and resources that address the unique needs of nontraditional, transfer, and at-risk student populations.
• Collects, analyzes, and reports data on FYE and outreach initiatives to measure impact and improve services.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Requires a Master’s degree in Library Science or similar degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution.

Additionally, the preferred candidate will have experience in academic libraries in higher education and experience in developing and providing library instruction programs
