Overview

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Lead System Architect Legacy Transformation on a temporary basis (up to 2 years) on our Technology team. This position is a remote opportunity and can be based anywhere across Western Canada.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide oversight and direction for mainframe and related systems, ensuring high performance integration and alignment with FCL architecture standards.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide mainframe optimization strategy roadmap and portfolio.
  • Lead architectural planning and validation for legacy-related projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
  • Act as a trusted advisor offering legacy architecture consultation to IT leaders, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive architectural documentation and validate procedures across infrastructure, data, and integration domains.

Who you’ll work with

You will work closely with other seasoned Lead System Architects and will report into the Senior Manager Legacy. We strive to cultivate a culture that is collaborative, cross-functional, expertise-oriented, and consultative.

You will work closely with other functions in our Technology business unit and collaborate across the organization with teams who utilize the Mainframe legacy system.

Who you are

You are looking for a career in Information Technology and:

  • Have 8 years of relevant progressively responsible experience (FCL direct mainframe experience considered an asset).
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Having TOGAF Standard experience and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification is considered an asset.
