Dispatch Science is a leading SaaS platform revolutionizing delivery management through automation, optimization, and AI-driven solutions. We empower last-mile delivery companies with innovative technology that enhances efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

We are seeking a Lead Product Owner to join our team and take full ownership of a critical portion of our platform. In this role, you will work closely with customers, internal stakeholders, and developers to define and deliver features that bring real value. Initially hands-on and focused on managing the product backlog, this role may gradually expand to include the support or coordination of 1–2 additional Product Owners as our product team evolves over time.

This is a remote position. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Product Ownership: Take ownership of the product backlog, define user stories, prioritize features, and work closely with the development team to ensure successful delivery.
• Strategic Roadmapping: Contribute to defining the product roadmap in alignment with business goals, customer needs, and market trends.
• Customer & Market Research: Gather and analyze feedback from customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to identify pain points and opportunities.
• Cost-Conscious Collaboration: Partner with developers to evaluate different implementation options and ensure features are built in the most cost-effective, scalable, and maintainable way.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Support, and Customer Success teams to ensure product alignment and a successful go-to-market strategy.
• Release Management: Own the creation and publication of clear, concise, and customer-facing release notes for each product update.
• Documentation & Enablement: Ensure internal product documentation is current and provide enablement sessions for customer-facing teams.
• Team Growth: As the product organization scales, help recruit, mentor, and guide a growing team of Product Owners under your leadership.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a SaaS environment.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in logistics — especially in last-mile delivery — is a strong asset.
• Technical Acumen: Familiarity with software development practices, APIs, cloud platforms, and system integrations.
• Agile Methodology: Deep understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) principles and hands-on experience managing product backlogs.
• Cost Sensitivity: Demonstrated ability to weigh technical feasibility, development effort, and business impact when making product decisions.
• Leadership Potential: Strong initiative, ownership, and the ability to grow into a team leadership role.
• Language Requirements: Must speak French well enough to communicate effectively with internal bilingual teams; must be able to speak and write fluently in English, as all documentation, release notes, and most external communication is in English.
