Job Summary

What is the Opportunity?

Are you passionate about driving innovation in application development and streamlining the software delivery lifecycle? As a Lead Mainframe DevOps Developer, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring that our applications are built, tested, and deployed with speed, reliability, and compliance to the Enterprise security standards. You will lead efforts to enhance developer productivity, optimize build pipelines, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across the application development lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of key features for the Helios CI / CD pipeline, with the primary accountability of Mainframe DevOps.
  • Consult with partner systems to develop integration strategies revolving around DevOps best practices.
  • Enable AI Capabilities to increase Developer Productivity
  • Work with product owners and key stakeholders to develop high value features that benefit the RBC Developer community.
  • Increase the usage of AI to increase Developer Productivity
  • Maintain the CI / CD pipeline: security and vulnerability management, capacity management, deployment and scaling strategies, performance and uptime.
  • Provide estimates on feature delivery.
  • Provide L3 Support when required.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Mainframe development.
  • Experience with Mainframe build / compile and deploy processes.
  • Highly proficient with IBM Developer for z / OS (IDz)
  • Experience with Mainframe utilities and platforms: ISPF, TSO, Mainframe Filesystems, JES, Endeavor.
  • Experience with DevOps tools, platforms, and interfaces: Jenkins, UCD, Github, Github Actions, JFrog Artifactory, Hashicorp Vault.
  • Proficient with Java, Python, Typescript, Groovy, YAML, NPM, Maven, Gradle, Docker.
  • Deep understanding of DevOps Principles and best practices for CI / CD.
  • Experience with deploying to cloud platforms: OCP, Azure, AWS.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience with IMS, Zeke, DB2, CICs, WebSphere
  • Experience with Mainframe automation tools such as NetView and IBM System Automation.
  • Experience with QE Automation Tools.
  • Development and support of applications hosted on Cloud platforms.
