Overview

Your Opportunity: Health has an enormous impact on people’s lives, and lab results play a key role in providing physicians with information they need to accurately diagnose and treat their patients. Alberta Precision Labs (APL) is looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to work in a fast-paced, public-facing Patient Service Centre (PSC). This individual will follow lab processes and procedures, perform venipuncture, ECGs on registered outpatients and community patients, and monitor wait times to ensure we are providing the best service to our patients. As the public face of APL, the successful candidate will work independently and with others in a patient-oriented, team-focused workplace that strives to be positive and respectful. As a subsidiary of Alberta Health Services (AHS), APL prides itself on the delivery of responsive diagnostic lab services to Albertans. This position includes a competitive salary, opportunities for professional development and comprehensive benefits. AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
