Position

Junior Process Engineer – based in Stayner, ON.

What you’ll be doing
  • Assist Operational leaders in executing various operations projects, both strategic and tactical in nature, involving broad stakeholders and cross‑functional teams. Responsibilities include planning, documentation, training, trials, and seamless management of connections with other projects.
  • Develop and distribute various technical documents such as Work Instructions and Procedures related to Operations.
  • Support Operations through Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • Maintain clear communication about the project's progress to the broader project team.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional departments to ensure the projects do not interfere in the day‑to‑day operations.
  • Create plans to accelerate or mitigate any challenges that arise during the process.
  • Assist with training for operational stakeholders on new product changes and SKUs, ensuring smooth implementation onsite for production, shipping, inventory, and engineering teams.
  • Manage project requirements.
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure all downstream areas are ready for commercial projects.
  • Maintain standards and monitor scope with project quality.
  • Monitor and report on project progress.
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs.
  • Evaluate and assess result of project.
Your Environment
  • Working with the automation team to service, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment in restricted factory‑like environments.
  • Production spaces may include hot & humid environments with bright lights.
  • Full post‑production lines and equipment (includes secondary packaging and carton printing) as well as automation equipment.
  • Automation equipment includes a defined set of hazards (mechanical moving parts).
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 1‑2 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Practical attitude and ability to learn new tasks.
  • Excellent PC skills.
  • Able to support overtime and weekend work, sometimes on short notice.
  • Familiar with electrical/mechanical drive technology (i.e. motors and gears).
  • Understanding of automated manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Strong awareness of safety.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of Automation and latest technologies used in packaging and production.
Salary

$60,000 – $70,000 per year (Stayner, Ontario). The actual compensation offered will be based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, applicable market data, internal equity, and business needs, and may vary within the stated range. This role may be eligible for bonus, incentive compensation, or other variable pay in accordance with applicable company plans.
