Overview

Fleetway is seeking a Junior Naval Architect Engineer or Technologist to join our team in Dartmouth, NS, or Ottawa, ON. In this role, you’ll contribute to the Halifax Class Design Agents program, delivering in-service support that keeps Canada’s fleet mission-ready.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture Engineering with active licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) through your local provincial or territorial engineering regulatory body, or
  • Engineering Technology Diploma in Naval Architecture from a recognized post-secondary institution

Experience & Requirements

  • 0–2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience or training in 3D modeling and/or 2D drafting
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite is a strong asset
  • Experience working with naval warships and/or within the shipbuilding industry is considered an asset
  • Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain Canadian government security clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Support the analysis of engineering changes across naval ships, systems, and equipment — including structures, materials, welding, coatings and preservation, shock and vibration, damage control, and piping systems
  • Assist in conducting technical investigations and engineering studies to support design decisions and system improvements
  • Contribute technical input to engineering specifications, design documentation, and drawings
  • Review, maintain, and update technical documentation for naval systems and equipment
