Job description
We Are Hiring for Careers, Not Just Jobs.

Prince George offers the ultimate lifestyle upgrade: a place where attainable housing costs essentially give you a raise, and a fifteen‑minute commute gives you your time back. You can trade a cramped condo for a detached home and still have the budget to enjoy the 1,600 lakes and rivers within an hour of your doorstep. We are the Sports Capital of BC, a community that rallies around the Cougars and shops at local farmers markets, yet still offers the big‑city convenience of Costco and Superstore.

Your Base Camp for Northern Adventure

At Allpoints Fire Protection, we have set the standard for the industry in the North. While Prince George is home, your office is the vast beauty of Northern BC. You will see clients from Haida Gwaii to the Alberta border, and 100 Mile House to the Yukon. You will experience a diversity of work that few other roles can offer, providing safety and peace of mind to everyone from local schools and hospitals to remote mines and mills.

Culture & Growth

We know that true excellence comes from how we treat each other. We foster an environment defined by equal acceptance, mutual respect, and the unshakable belief that we are stronger together. We operate as a single, cohesive unit: every single person, from the office to the field, plays a critical role in our collective success.

We know that your growth is our growth; that is why we actively support your professional development with ongoing training and learning opportunities. This is a workplace where you are backed by a team that genuinely has your back, creating a space where you can speak up, share ideas, and do your best work without hesitation.

Junior Fire Protection Technician

You aren't just filling a seat; you are entering a pathway to becoming a certified expert. In this role, you will work side‑by‑side with the best technicians in the North, learning the trade from the ground up.

What You Will Do
  • Master the Craft: Partner with senior technicians to perform inspections, system verifications, and essential repairs on electronic devices and components.
  • Hands‑On Solving: Move beyond the classroom and get your hands dirty. You will troubleshoot real‑world issues in diverse environments, from hospitals to industrial mills.
  • Explore the Territory: Embrace the travel. You will be on the road visiting client sites across Northern BC, requiring flexibility for travel and occasional after‑hours work.
  • Professional Execution: We trust you to manage your part of the project, including maintaining high customer service standards and handling digital documentation (Outlook, Word, Excel) efficiently.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Attitude Over Aptitude: We can teach you the fire code, but we can't teach drive. We value a great attitude and strong work ethic above all else.
  • Mechanical Mindset: A background or genuine interest in electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems is a massive asset. If you love taking things apart to see how they work, you belong here.
The Non‑Negotiables
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with an insurable drivers abstract.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the role, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and lifting equipment up to 50lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation).
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
Our Promise to You - The Career Path

We are willing to train the right person. If you bring the work ethic, we will provide the roadmap to earn necessary industry certifications, such as:

  • ASTTBC Certification
  • Canadian Fire Alarm Association Certification (CFAA)
Compensation Package: Investing in You

We believe that if we take care of our people, they will take care of our clients. Our compensation package is designed to support your financial growth, your health, and your work‑life balance.

Financial Security & Growth
  • Scalable Wages: Competitive hourly rates ranging from $25.00 - $35.00, depending on your experience and certifications. We pay for skill.
  • RRSP Contribution: We help build your future with a $1/hour contribution to your RRSP (after 6 months of continuous employment).
  • Extra Earning Potential: Opportunities for overtime and emergency call‑out are available for those who want them.
Health & Work-Life Balance
  • Real Time Off: We know life happens. You receive 5 Paid Personal Days in addition to your two weeks’ vacation in the first year.
  • Bank Your Time: We offer the ability to bank up to 80 hours for two additional weeks off. Save it up for hunting season, a long camping trip, or extended time with family.
  • Flexible Scheduling: We offer flexible time off to help you manage life outside of work.
  • Comprehensive Health: Access to Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, and Long‑Term Disability coverage (cost‑shared program available after 3 months).
  • Support Network: Access to our Employee Assistance Program and optional critical illness insurance.
Fully Equipped (At Our Expense)
  • Gear Provided: We supply logo shirts, hats, and jackets, plus high‑visibility vests, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Allowances: We provide a dedicated allowance for boots and pants yearly.
  • Tools & Tech: We provide use of specialty tools (and replace any personal tools broken on the job) and issue a company cell phone after 3 months.
Culture & Development
  • Never Stop Learning: Access to manufacturer and additional training opportunities to keep you ahead of a changing industry.
  • Team Connection: Join us for annual company functions and summer BBQ lunches.
Thank You for Your Time

We appreciate the time and effort invested in your application. While we review every submission carefully, only those selected for next steps will be contacted.
