Key Responsibilities

The Automotive Mechanic is responsible for servicing/repairing SOUTHLAND school buses in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. This position is not confined to shop activities as the Automotive Mechanic may be required to perform field work on down buses.

  • Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses
  • Diagnose equipment problems
  • CVIP Inspections
  • Respond to breakdowns
  • Spring and winter maintenance
  • Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
  • Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities
Requirements
  • Journeyperson Automotive Mechanic
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • 2 – 5 years of related experience
  • Valid Driver’s License (Class 2 or 3 considered an asset)
  • CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License considered an asset
  • Clear criminal record
