A community-focused theatre organization in Edmonton is seeking a Managing Director to lead daily operations and financial management. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a relevant field and a strong background in the arts and culture sector. This full-time position offers a salary range of $40,000 to $45,000 and a flexible hybrid work model.
Full-Time Position (35 hours per week)
Reports to Northern Light Theatre Board
Northern Light Theatre (NLT) is an Edmonton based theatre company with a mandate to challenge both artist and audience alike by producing and developing provocative scripts – language rich texts that are dark, poetic, funny – which reflect a complex world and lead us to question our hierarchy of values. Operating as a not for profit organization and a registered charity, NLT has been producing theatre for almost 50 years and continually strives to provide audiences with opportunities to challenge themselves and their notions of the environment surrounding them.
Under the creative artistic vision of Trevor Schmidt, with full support of the administrative team and the board, NLT is dedicated to producing intimate and affecting work that speaks to the modern audience of the urban human condition, the failure to find security and the loss of the dreams held by all for love and happiness.
NLT is currently recruiting for a Managing Director to maintain the organization’s business operations including the day to day administration tasks, operational reviews and reporting, project management, and developmental planning.
The Managing Director reports to the Northern Light Theatre board and, in tandem with the Artistic Director, carries out NLT’s mandate while also advancing the organization’s current strategic priorities. Communication between these two senior roles is important and the staff team will work on projects together.
NLT has supported a hybrid operational model since the COVID 19 pandemic, with a flexible work-from-home and office schedule.
35 hours per week.
$40,000 to $45,000 plus benefits package
Office address is #203, 10816A – 82 Ave. Parking is available. Some remote work will also be possible.
