Jasper Alberta Health Services Registered Nurse

Location: Jasper, AB

Job type: Full-time

Salary: $39.58–$59.21 per hour (provisional Permit holders paid $39.58–$54.16 per hour; upon obtaining a full licence, the rate adjusts to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable)

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support, advice, direction, and input into the needs of fellow staff and managers in relation to health promotion, safety and hygiene, and disease/injury prevention programs.
  • Act as healthcare provider for AHS staff and representatives, ensuring the confidentiality of highly sensitive health information.
  • Administer occupational immunizations and conduct occupational health assessments/monitoring.
  • BBFE (Blood/Body Fluid Exposure) follow-up; CDE (Communicable Disease Exposure) follow-up and investigation.
  • WCB Case Management.
  • Employee/Family Assistance Program awareness; Noise Management Program; hazard assessment and control; skin integrity/hand health investigations; respiratory fit testing; ergonomic review.
  • Other consultations/duties as required; measure and monitor outcomes of WHS programs; consult with and refer to appropriate partners and specialists (e.g., IPC, Public Health).
  • Provide informal leadership and orientation to other OHNs and teammates.
Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4) and NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification.
  • Minimum of a Nursing Diploma and/or Bachelor's Degree with RN designation. Active CRNA permit. Occupational Health Nursing Post Diploma/Degree Certificate. Audiometric Technician Training. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Occupational Health Nursing. CPR/BCLS-HCP.
  • Preferred: equivalencies of education and experience may be considered, including completion of the Occupational Health Nursing Post Diploma/Degree Certificate within three (3) years of hire date. CNA Certified Occupational Health Nursing (C) Canada preferred.
