Responsibilities
  • Cleans area of responsibility as outlined in cleaning run assignments, for example: performing daily routing tasks, weekly and monthly tasks, and annual/school break tasks.
  • Notifies Head Custodian or Manager of Property Services of cleaning problems or maintenance requirements of building or cleaning equipment.
  • Works cooperatively with other administrative, custodial and maintenance staff as required (e.g., assisting with annual cleaning of radiators, dusting of light shades, cleaning snow around entrances, spreading salt, carrying out grounds care assignments).
  • Assists Head Custodian with maintenance issues, or, in schools which do not have a Head Custodian, carries out routine maintenance functions as necessary.
  • Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
