Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in general IT infrastructure planning (Cloud, Network, Systems, Security).
  • Strong understanding of critical operational environments and capacity models.
  • Experience coordinating multiple teams and balancing operational and project workloads.
  • Ability to analyze high demand volumes and identify overload risks.
  • Skilled in presenting clear, structured arbitration recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills for building dashboards, metrics and forecasting tools.
  • Comfortable working in environments with high operational pressure.
  • Asset: experience with PMO or demand governance frameworks.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required.

Overview

CGI is seeking an IT Infrastructure Planning Lead to enhance capacity visibility, resource utilization and operational predictability across infrastructure teams (Cloud, Network, Systems, Security). This strategic role provides a consolidated view of demand, reduces reactive management and ensures alignment between operations, projects and business priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a consolidated, integrated view of demand across operations, maintenance, projects, initiatives and last‑minute requests.
  • Assess real team capacity by expertise (Cloud, Network, Systems, Security).
  • Identify bottlenecks, workload risks and high‑pressure expert resources.
  • Build and maintain 3‑, 6‑ and 12‑month capacity forecasts.
  • Map key expertise across teams and document availability.
  • Recommend optimal resource allocation based on project criticality and business priority.
  • Provide managers with structured visibility into capacity, decision points and risks.
  • Establish a demand governance and prioritization framework.
  • Manage and assess last‑minute requests, including impact analysis and arbitration scenarios.
  • Improve estimation, planning and tracking practices (planned vs actual workload).
  • Propose continuous improvement initiatives (tools, workflows, automation, training).
  • Produce key deliverables: integrated capacity plans, monthly dashboards, consolidated demand registry, capability maturity reports, etc.
