What will you be doing:
  • Participation in a team environment, working closely with Project coordinators, other Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers
  • Preparing Health and Safety plans and Emergency response plan
  • Preparation of proposals and cost estimates
  • Scheduling of field staff and subcontractors
  • Compile data for reports
  • Report writing including preparing conclusions and recommendations
  • Project accounting, tracking and reporting requirements
  • Training junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation etc.
  • Training staff on site specific health and safety
  • Interface with clients to ensure needs are met and projects/proposals are moving forward - Work with other members of the team to ensure provision of the support necessary for completion of projects
  • Work with and provide support to other members of the Contaminated Sites Management Groups in Atlantic Canada in sharing health and safety, project management, project completion and client service responsibilities

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • University degree in engineering or natural/earth sciences
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in contaminated site assessments and conceptual site models
  • Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/possess a safety conscious attitude
  • An analytical mind; someone who is able to make recommendations on the next steps for client sites
  • Strong field experience
  • Ability to work patiently with and help train less experienced team members
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and key judgment skills
  • Understanding of Atlantic RBCA guidelines, provincial and federal contaminated site regulations
  • P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation or potential to obtain is preferred.
