Your Role
  • Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work using computerized drafting tools: AutoCAD or MicroStation. Exercise initiative in completing recurring assignments independently and applying judgement in determining which of many methods are applicable.
  • Perform design and technical calculations, material lists, construction details, drawings and diagrams related to the project requirements alongside the engineering team.
  • Develop and prepare standardized drawings and symbols for the company database.
  • Design and draft PLC panels, JB drawings, Loop drawings, Control architecture drawings, Building layouts and more.
  • Reviewing third-party drawings such as civil, architectural, landscape, and utilities for conflicts and information as required by the project.
  • 3D modelling for lighting, panels and cable tray would be an asset.
  • Ensure final designs comply with clients and/or company quality standards.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in an engineering consulting firm considered an asset.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
  • Working experience in 3D design software would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and working experience related to Canadian Safety Code.
  • Computer knowledge in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
