Job Description
Position Purpose summary
The Integrated Mission Coordinator provides leadership and oversight to a broad range of relevant, holistic, programming and special events developed to meet the needs of the individuals and families served through the Ingersoll & London Westminster Park community.
The work of this position supports the organizational desire to move from transactional distribution services toward relational and transformational ministry. Working collaboratively with the leadership of the Ingersoll Community Services & Westminster Park Community Church they will focus on identifying and creating programs where a spiritual focus can be applied, and The Salvation Army mission and vision can truly come to life.
Accountabilities
Operations/Programs
- Assess community needs and review client feedback to determine potential programing and develop a strategy for the implementation of such programs.
- Oversee, organize, plan and deliver special programs as required ensuring that ministry objectives are accomplished. i.e. Cook2Gether (cooking classes), iRead (a community-based literacy and numeracy program for children in grades 1 to 5), Red Cap (Anger Management Program), Smart Money, Alpha, Brave etc.
- Create a safe space for clients and their families where they can explore their practical, social, emotional and spiritual needs.
- Coordinate Adventure Camp registration, transportation and other details for this ministry.
- May be involved in assisting with Kettle Campaign.
- Through conversation and prayer, is able share the hope and love of Jesus in a manner that supports and respects the faith journey of our clients and their families.
- Ensure a spiritual dynamic, and focus, in all programming, including facilitated access for clients to pastoral services and other church-based programs.
- Network with other TSA, government and community social service providers to coordinate resources for the benefit of clients and programs.
- Ensure that all duties are completed in accordance with the principles, standards, policies, and procedures of The Salvation Army.
- Assist the Ministry Director with ongoing strategic planning to ensure programming reflects client need as these may evolve in our changing socioeconomic climate.
- Work with the Ministry Director to ensure that programs (including program reviews, inspections, and audits) meet contractual, legal, and internal requirements.
Volunteer Coordination
- Support, assist, supervise, train and schedule volunteers, demonstrate work methods and assist them to achieve the purpose of the organization and enhance the ministries of The Salvation Army.
- In consultation with the Ministry Director organize regular meetings with volunteers.
- May participate in the recruitment of volunteers in consultation with the Ministry Director.
- Participate in the regular supervision of volunteers and assist in the completion of regular performance evaluations and appraisals with the Ministry Director.
- Monitor volunteer’s performance and report any concerns/questions to the Ministry Director.
- Provide corrective feedback to improve employee and volunteer performance; positive feedback (reinforcement) to recognize good performance.
Administration
- Maintain the volunteer database as well as any required paperwork in keeping with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
- Collect data and reports on statistics pulled from TSA programs.
- Maintain a working list of contacts, connections and partnerships made that support the unit.
Communication
- Communicate any maintenance issues in a timely manner to the Ministry Director.
- Communicate regularly with the Ministry Director to ensure consistent adherence to Ministry Unit Policies and for support as needed.
- Determine and submit requests regarding operational needs and supplies as necessary.
Health and Safety
- Understand and work in compliance with the Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor volunteer safety practices in compliance with health and safety standards, and prepare, submit, and act on incident reports; provide calming intervention as required ensuring the safety of everyone.
- Responsible to report any serious health and safety infractions or problems in accordance with policies to the Ministry Director.
- Report any safety hazards, maintenance problems, equipment, or supply needs to the Ministry Director as necessary.
- Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other position related duties as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This is a permanent part-time position based on 5 hours per week.
- Some flexibility in scheduling is required, some weekend and evening work may be required.
- The Supervisor will set the hours of work and work schedule.
- Working environment is typically in the office in generally agreeable conditions.
- Be able to lift/move up to 40 pounds.
- This job requires reaching, bending and stooping frequently, working in a standing position for periods of time.
- Travel is associated with this position between the Ingersoll CFS location & London Westminster Park.
Normal hours of work: Hours will be scheduled in consultation with the Supervisor. Some weekend work may be required.
Education, Qualifications and Certifications
- Post-secondary diploma in Social Work or Human Services field of study.
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Current Safe Food Handlers Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License, own vehicle, and a current copy of driver’s abstract that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a related field; with experience working with inner city agencies/services and clients.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products is required - i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Previous experience in social services/mental health and event planning an asset.
- Previous experience with program facilitation, administrative duties, and program development
- Demonstrated competence in developing and maintaining appropriate client relationships and interagency relations.
- Able to perform general administrative tasks.
- Experience with community development is considered an asset.
Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation
The target hiring range for this position is $21.83 to $27.29 with a maximum of $32.75.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
