Qualifications

Job description

Progesys is a company recognized for its expertise in managing industrial projects and their optimal transition from construction to operation. The company is based in Laval (Canada) since 2002 and has offices in the United States, the Middle East, Asia and South America.

Progesys is currently looking for an Instrumentation Engineer / SME to work in a mining project in Ontario, Canada.

Main Responsibilities

Engineering:

  • Preparing scope of work for MOC’s and Work Orders', engineering documents (instrument list, IO List, cable schedule, loop diagram, termination drawing, material list, P&ID, As-Built drawings, etc)
  • Coordination with the stakeholders (Process Control/Automation, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, etc) to ensure all scopes are included in the SOW and approved.

Construction/Corrective Maintenance:

  • Supporting construction activities installation, bench calibration, inspection and/or repair of instrumentation devices, (flow meters, pressure/temperature transmitters, control valves, etc) Provide technical support.

Commissioning:

  • Testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of instrumentation devices. Coordination with the stakeholders (Process Control, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, etc)

General:

  • Ensure safety precautions, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed. Knowledge of applicable Canadian standards and codes.
Requirements
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in commissioning activities, ideally within the following industries: Mining and metallurgy, Aluminum, oil and gas or hydro power
  • P&ID comprehension
  • Interpretation of circuit diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, CSA installation standards
  • Health and safety minded
  • Excellent oral communication skills in English
