Qualifications

A Bachelor of Nursing Degree and the successful completion of an Infection Prevention and Control Canada endorsed infection control course is required. Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador and a minimum of four years of clinical nursing experience is also required. The successful applicant will be required to complete and maintain the Infection Control certification within the first two years of hire. Applicants must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. They must possess knowledge of adult learning principles as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. The successful candidate will have strong analytical abilities and exhibit sound evidence-based decision making skills. Knowledge of epidemiological principles, statistics, microbiology and infectious diseases is required. A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is also required.

If no candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration will be given to individuals who have a willingness to complete the Infection Prevention and Control Canada endorsed infection control course.
