WHAT THE POSITION ENTAILS

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position’s job responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot AC/DC motors, controls, PLC, electrical drives, low/medium/high voltage systems.
  • Service the electrical aspect of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Receive instructions, prints or work orders, covering scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work to be done.
  • Maintain specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and materials usage on computerized maintenance management software (CMMS), work orders, logbooks, and checklists.
  • Perform rounds and checks machinery condition using checklists or digital tools to identify abnormalities and ensure that machine functions are operating within the normal specifications.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as cranes, tow motor operation including rigging.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Electrician - A or Construction Electrician - A) as recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario is required.
