Job description
Overview:

The In-Game Hosts are integral members of the Toronto Blue Jays Game Entertainment team, responsible for driving excitement and elevating the fan experience at every home game. For this position of Hype Host, the ideal candidate is an energetic and dynamic professional who can deliver pre‑scripted and ad‑libbed work in a fresh and engaging manner. Candidates must have a passion for interacting with fans of all ages and a strong understanding and enthusiasm for the Toronto Blue Jays and baseball.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform as Hype Host, alongside Promotional Host at Blue Jays home games.
  • Attend pre‑game production meetings with the Game Entertainment team.
  • Work independently to review scripts and develop creative, engaging ways to bring energy and personality into each hit.
  • Collaborate with J FORCE and Mascots as required for in‑game hits.
  • Host pre‑game programming for Jr. Jays Sundays and additional Theme Days outlined in the Promotions and Events schedule.
  • Engage large crowds with confidence, entertaining and energizing fans of all ages.
  • Thrive in a fast‑paced, live environment, adapting quickly and ad‑libbing when necessary as a dynamic extension of the entertainment on the field.
  • Stay current on Toronto Blue Jays and Major League Baseball news, and maintain a thorough understanding of the game.
Qualifications:
  • Availability for preseason training from February through Opening Day in March, as well as all 81 home games of the 2026 season.
  • Post‑secondary education in Marketing, Journalism and/or Radio & Television Arts, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in promotions, broadcast or social media hosting.
  • Previous experience hosting live events.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong on‑camera and microphone presence, with a passion for engaging fans of all ages.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Toronto Blue Jays, baseball fundamentals, current players and Alumni.
