Our Story

Commissionaires BC is a Canadian, not‑for‑profit security and enforcement organization that has been serving communities since 1927. Our mission is to give back to those who served and continue to serve our country.

We provide security services at over 200 sites across 110+ communities in BC, working with clients ranging from the Federal Government to local municipalities, airports, industrial sectors and commercial/residential properties.

As the Identification Services Supervisor, you will play a key role in leading our fingerprinting and clearance services team, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with government requirements.

Location & Schedule

This position is primarily based in Vancouver, with responsibilities across our offices in Surrey and Kelowna. Full‑time, Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility as needed.

Salary

Expected salary is $55‑65k depending on experience.

Clearance Requirements
  • Public Works Secret Level Clearance (Applicants must have resided in Canada for 10+ years)
  • Ability to obtain YVR / Transport Canada clearance

Some of your responsibilities include:
  • Supervising and guiding staff delivering fingerprinting and criminal record check services.
  • Coordinating training for new Ident staff.
  • Monitoring client activity and assisting with service delivery when needed.
  • Handling challenging client interactions professionally.
  • Scheduling office hours and staff shifts across Vancouver, Surrey and Kelowna.
  • Maintaining and updating the Commissionaires BC fingerprinting website.
  • Liaising with the national office in Ottawa regarding service procedures and sales initiatives.
  • Acting as the Company Security Officer (CSO) for Government of Canada – Public Works clearances.
  • Leading the Ident team in processing Public Works and other clearances for Commissionaires staff.
  • Working closely with HR to initiate and monitor staff clearances and track renewals.
  • Providing executives with departmental analysis and reports.
  • Monitoring physical security at all offices.
  • Assisting other staff as needed.
Must‑Haves
  • Ability to obtain PW Secret clearance (10+ years residency in Canada).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience dealing with the public and managing staff.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable traveling between Vancouver, Surrey and Kelowna.
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Previous experience in security or clearance processing.
  • BC Driver’s licence in good standing.
