Purpose of your Position - Non Union
Classification Summary - Union
As an HVAC technician, you will install, maintain, repair, and manage HVAC and Mechanical systems serving a variety of facilities and functions
Duties - Union
• Recommends proper HVAC design; ensures quality standards are met and accurate documentation is maintained on all building systems.
• Investigates building comfort complaints; instructs clients on ways to improve comfort level.
• Work with clients and consultants to increase energy efficiency and reduce GHG consumption.
• Operates, monitors and troubleshoots building automation control systems.
• Designs and implements a preventive maintenance program in conjunction with the Asset Management Program.
• Plans and performs preventative maintenance on building mechanical systems including parts sourcing and replacement, lubrication, cleaning, inspection, adjustment, etc.
• Coordinates preventative maintenance schedules and activities including inspecting and oversees the work of contractors.
• Prepares cost estimates and purchase requisitions; provides input on annual budget development, recommends the priority of equipment to be replaced.
• Takes various industry specific training to learn latest technologies.
• Responds to emergency calls.
