Perma‑Pipe in Camrose, AB is hiring a Human Resources Manager - Canada!
We’re looking for a Human Resources Manager - Canada to be a part of our growing Canadian (AB & ON) business. The Human Resources Manager - Canada will provide leadership and oversight of all Human Resource functions including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, compliance, compensation, benefits, HRIS, and talent development within Perma‑Pipe’s operations in Canada. Using a data‑driven approach, they will partner with senior leaders to identify human resources needs that support business strategy.
The role will direct and coordinate human resources activities in compliance with company philosophy, objectives, and legal requirements, and recommend and direct the implementation of programs and policies that create or reinforce positive employee experience. The role will support both plant and sales business groups.
The role is situated in Camrose, AB, with occasional travel.

Essential Job Functions
Business Leadership
- Develop HR initiatives and programs that support Perma‑Pipe’s business strategy.
- Identify opportunities for employee experience improvement and develop and execute strategies / programs for improvement.
- Leverage people analytics to provide data‑driven insights to business leadership that improve business performance and employee experience.
- Lead change management within the business units supported.
- Provide strategic leadership building leadership capability, while serving as a trusted leader who models Perma‑Pipe core values and supports business objectives.
Talent Management
- Oversee the talent management program for Perma Pipe’s Canadian operations.
- Liaise with Business Leaders and Corporate HR team to execute on programs including annual reviews, individual performance plans, talent development execution, succession planning, revising and developing new position descriptions, tracking due dates for performance follow up with supervisors and managers.
Employee Relations
- Champion employee engagement initiatives and resolve issues impacting on employee relations.
- Develop strategies to improve turnover within the business unit.
Talent Acquisition
- Lead the development, in conjunction with Talent Acquisition partners to identify and execute talent acquisition strategies to attract high performing talent.
- Actively partner with hiring managers throughout all phases of recruiting including developing new and updating existing job descriptions, determining recruiting strategies, interviewing and selection.
- Conduct orientation including completing necessary documents, company overview and introductions, benefit enrollment and company policies.
- Conduct exit interviews, advising departing staff of eligible benefits and other pertinent information.
- Leverage technology to improve processes and efficiencies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Business unit lead for all Perma‑Pipe compensation, insurance and benefit programs.
- Advise staff on benefit eligibility.
Health & Safety
- Collaborate with safety management team to provide and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
- Actively participate in and contribute to monthly safety meetings and initiatives.
- Oversee training of managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks, and support safety programs to drive safety awareness.
Compliance / Record Management / HRIS
- Know and understand all local, provincial and federal labor laws to ensure Perma‑Pipe’s compliance with the laws.
- Communicate new policies to all staff and provide training as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; CHR / CPHR Certification preferred.
Required Experience
- Five or more years of Human Resources Generalist / Management experience required, demonstrating a sound knowledge of safety, performance management, organizational development, diversity, compensation practices, and federal and provincial employment laws (Alberta and Ontario).
- Significant experience and resolution of complex employee relations issues is a must.
- Strong computer skills, familiarity with HRIS systems; Paycom preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Two or more years of experience supporting sales and/or corporate employees.
