Job description

We are pleased to invite a detail-oriented Hotel Accountant to join our team. This role supports the accuracy and integrity of hotel financial operations by ensuring timely and precise reporting of all property revenues.

The position provides coverage for the Hotel Accountant two days per week and during vacation periods, handling core accounting responsibilities. In addition, this role assumes full responsibility for beverage inventory control, ensuring accurate tracking, accountability, and alignment with operational standards.

The schedule consists of day shifts, including weekends, with approximately 30–35 hours per week. Current scheduled days are Monday and Tuesday, with flexibility required based on operational needs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accounting Coverage
  • Perform all regular accounting tasks during scheduled coverage days and vacation relief, including cash handling, deposit preparation, revenue reconciliation, and accounts payable coding.
  • Complete VLT reconciliation and ensure compliance with gaming regulations.
  • Communicate any cash shortages or discrepancies to management immediately and assist in resolving issues.
  • Ensure daily labor reports are created and submitted accurately.
Inventory Management & Safeguarding
  • Take ownership of counting and balancing beverage inventory weekly using Ideal Pour weigh scale and software.
  • Ensure proper receiving processes are followed and all transfers and purchases are recorded promptly.
  • Reconcile inventory usage against sales data; investigate variances and report findings to management.
  • Provide detailed analysis on shortages and identify slow-moving or overstocked products.
  • Maintain sensible inventory levels aligned with operational requirements.
  • While not responsible for ordering, safeguard all products and enforce accountability among employees for shortages or discrepancies.
  • Complete month-end inventory counts and prepare comprehensive reports for submission on the 1st of each month.
Operational Support
  • Collaborate with management to address inventory issues and improve efficiency.
  • Support compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
Qualifications
  • Business Administration diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Strong Excel and accounting software skills.
  • Previous experience in cash handling, reconciliation, and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of hospitality operations and Ideal Pour system preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively.
