Job description

Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.

Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.

Tasks:

1. Administer bedside and personal care.
2. Assist clients in water (e.g., pool).
3. Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene.
4. Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walking.
5. Feed or assist in feeding.
6. Launder clothing and household linens.
7. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
8. Provide companionship.
9. Shop for food and household supplies.
10. Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
11. Tend to emotional well-being of children.
12. Take children to and from school and appointments.
13. Supervise and care for children.
14. Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.
15. Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children.
16. Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
17. Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children.
18. Assume full responsibility for household in the absence of parents.
